This is the Gospel according to Saint Mark, one of the original disciples of Jesus Christ, translated into the Ghomara Tamazight language of Morocco (Taghumarit). Mark is the second book of the New Testament. Saint Mark knew Jesus in person and traveled with him as he carried out his ministry. Mark 1:9-11 says this: In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens opening and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased."
It is also written in Mark 8:34-38: And Jesus called to him the crowd with his disciples and said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? For what can a man give in return for his life? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” (ESV 2001)
